The Go club Go7 and the Austrian Go Federation are pleased to announce the 3rd Lanke Cup Vienna Open, which will take place on 20–21 June at the Universitätscampus of the University of Vienna!
Rules and Tournament System
Rules of Vienna Open 2025 will be revised, but mostly stay the same: Vienna Open 2025 – Rules.
- Japanese rules, 6.5 komi
- 5 rounds, MacMahon system, no handicap
- EGF rated – class A
- Time settings: Fischer time 45min + 20sec
- This tournament is part of the Austrian Championship qualification.
Participation Fee
- 35€ for players registered until June 6th
- 25€ for players aged under 18 and above 65
- +5€ for players registered after June 6th
- +5€ for players who are not members of any European Go club or association

Three players and two reserves will form the appeals committee at the venue before the start of the tournament.
At least three games will be played on IZIS AI boards and broadcast live on https://gogameslive.eu/.

On Friday, June 19, our Go club in Lerchenfelderstraße 97 will be open from 18:00 for all players who want to play some fun free games before the serious ones!

Top 5 EGF players prizes are cumulative with prizes for 1st-8th place. Other prizes are not cumulative.
The organizer reserves the right to change the prize distribution if needed.
- The best-placed EGF player gets a seat in the Grand Prix Finals.
- The first five EGF players get Grand Prix bonus points: 8, 6, 4, 2 and 1 point respectively.

Venue
The address is Universitätscampus Hof 1, Entrance 1.3 (Spitalgasse 2, 1090 Wien).
The tournament takes place in the rooms of the Language Center of the University of Vienna. Google maps
The University Campus, built on the grounds of a former hospital, is a green and relaxed place where you can review your games on the grass and find plenty of bars and restaurants.
The U2 station Schottentor and the U6 station Alser Straße are both within a 10-minute walk from the playing venue. Tram lines 5, 12, 43, and 44 are just in front of the Campus.
